Generación de escenarios de planificación de redes mediante técnicas OLAP

Abstract

RESUMEN: Debido a la gran cantidad de datos que a veces se tienen que manejar, es necesario el uso de herramientas que se encarguen de almacenar, reducir, extraer, analizar, procesar o modificar dichos datos de la forma más rápida y sencilla posible. Las bases de datos multidimensionales, con el nombre de cubo OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) se encargan de representar la información elegida de forma multidimensional, es decir, mediante cubos de varias dimensiones, haciendo que dicha información sea más fácil de visualizar y se puedan llegar a resultados que, sin el uso de las técnicas tipo “OLAP”, sean más difíciles de obtener. El gran conjunto de información del que disponemos es acerca de dispositivos de telecomunicación. Antes de emplear las técnicas OLAP se realizarán una serie de pasos intermedios, como organizar la información en una única tabla y emplear una herramienta para realizar algunas operaciones, para posteriormente crearnos el cubo OLAP y poder analizar su información y extraer resultados, después se crearán distintos cubos con la información distribuida de forma diferente para ver la utilidad de tener almacenada la información de dicha manera (en cubo) y para obtener distintos resultados.

ABSTRACT: Because of the number of information we sometimes need to work, it is needed the uses of tools which stored, reduced, analyzed, processed and modified that information to the fastest and easiest way. Multidimensional databases, with the name OLAP cube (OnLine Analytical Processing), have the job to show the information to the multidimensional form with multidimensional cubes which make the information more easier to watch it and we can obtain results that are more difficult to obtain without those technics. The great number of information that we have is about telecommunications devices. We will do some task before the use of OLAP technics, some of that task are the agrupation of the information in one table or the use of a tool to do operations, next we will create the OLAP cube to we can analyze its information and we can extract results, in the end we will create another different cubes to see the useful of that way to store the information and to obtain another results.
