RESUMEN:Con este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se pretende investigar la competencia lingüística actual del personal de establecimientos comerciales, agencias de viajes y Oficinas de Información Turística de la ciudad de Santander. Además, se han investigado las acciones de formación en idiomas que se han puesto en marcha por parte de las instituciones o empresas y cuáles son las necesidades específicas del sector. Finalmente, se ha evaluado la importancia de conocer idiomas dentro del puesto de trabajo y se propondrán líneas de mejora.
ABSTRACT:This Dissertation seeks to make a preliminary study of the linguistic command currently held by staff employed in commercial outlets, travel agencies and the Tourist Information Offices in the City of Santander. Furthermore, the initiatives that are being taken at present by the relevant institutions or private companies in terms of providing their staff with ongoing professional development in languages have been studied. In addition, the specific needs of the sector are also explored. Finally, the importance of foreign languages within the tourism- related workplace is examined and suggestions for possible improvements are presented.
