El dolor: diferencias en la percepción de sus características en función de la patología de origen

Abstract

RESUMEN: DISEÑO: Estudio observacional transversal. OBJETIVOS: Analizar las diferencias en la percepción del dolor entre dos tipos de pacientes con patologías de origen distintas. INTRODUCCIÓN: A día de hoy el dolor se entiende como algo multidimensional. Muchas de las características que lo definen dependen de la percepción que tenga el sujeto que las padece. Por lo tanto estaríamos ante una dolencia subjetiva de la que queda mucho por explorar. MÉTODO: Se dividieron 100 pacientes en función de su patología de origen (100 pacientes con afectación del SNC y otros 100 con afectación de origen músculo-esquelética). Se les pasó el mismo cuestionario y se analizaron posteriormente los datos. RESULTADOS: Sí se hallaron diferencias significativas en los resultados obtenidos en algunas de las características (en 3 de las 5 analizadas). DISCUSIÓN: El Sistema Nervioso tiene distintas formas de reaccionar en función del sujeto que padece el dolor. La intensidad y las características del mismo no parecen ir relacionadas con la relevancia que le otorga el paciente.

ABSTRACT: DESIGN: Transversal, observational study. OBJECTIVE: To analyze differences in pain perception between two types of patients with different pathologies. INTRODUCTION: Nowadays pain is understood as something multidimensional. Many of the defining characteristics depend on the subject´s perception. Therefore, this would be a subjective disease that much remains to be explored. METHOD: 100 patients were divided in 2 groups depending on the origin of their pathology (100 patients with CNS disease and 100 patient with pathology of musculoskeletal origin). RESULTS: Significant differences were found in results of some features (in 3 of the 5 analyzed). DISCUSSION: The nervous system has different reactions depending on the subject who suffers the pain. The intensity and the characteristics do not appear to be related to the relevance that gives the patient to the pain.
