abstract = {RESUMEN A raíz de la apertura de la economía durante el franquismo y de las posteriores crisis del petróleo, se fue haciendo más que evidente la necesidad de las medidas de reconversión industrial llevadas a cabo en el seno de las empresas del gran aparato industrial de la cuenca del Besaya, constituido desde finales del siglo XIX hasta mediados del siglo XX. La reconversión industrial de los años ochenta trajo consigo grandes cambios; en el ámbito económico, en el ámbito social y en el ámbito político local; cambios que significaron la transformación profunda de un territorio que fue durante mucho tiempo el corazón industrial de Cantabria.},
