Atención de fisioterapia en los Centros de Educación Especial en Cantabria

Abstract

RESUMEN: La fisioterapia en educación especial se realiza dentro del ámbito educativo, en el lugar donde el niño está escolarizado con el fin de permitir que el aprendizaje motor se realice en un contexto significativo para el niño. De esta manera permitimos al niño que realice un aprendizaje más funcional. Objetivo: El objetivo principal de este estudio es analizar y ofrecer una visión de cómo es la atención fisioterapéutica en los centros de Educación Especial en la Región de Cantabria mediante un cuestionario. Diseño: Estudio observacional descriptivo transversal llevado a cabo a los fisioterapeutas de los centros de Educación Especial y los centros ordinarios con aulas de educación especial. Métodos: Para el análisis de este estudio se llevó a cabo un cuestionario propio que fue rellenado por 10 fisioterapeutas (n=10). La recogida de datos, se realizó en una única fase, cuando se hace llegar el cuestionario a los fisioterapeutas a los centros vía correo electrónico. Como no se obtuvo respuesta, me puse en contacto personalmente con los centros. Resultados: Tras analizar los datos, los resultados más significativos son que la silla de rueda es el producto de apoyo más utilizado; el tratamiento más utilizado es fisioterapia respiratoria, reeducación de la marcha, cinesiterapia e hidroterapia; y la patología más frecuente tratada en los CEE de Cantabria es la parálisis cerebral.

ABSTRACT: Physical therapy in Special Education takes place within the educational field, in the place where the child is enrolled in order to allow the motor learning happen side a meaningful context for the child. In this way we allow the child to perform a functional learning. Objective: The aim of this project is to analyze and provide an overview about the quality of physiotherapy care inside Special Education centers in the region of Cantabria. The research was made by questionnaire. Methodology: The data collection tool was a questionnaire, particularly designed for this research and filled in by 10 physiotherapists (n=10). Data was collected at a single stage, in which the questionnaire was sent to the physiotherapists via email. There was no response, so personal direct contact with the centers was required. Results: The most significant results obtained from the data analysis are the following: the wheelchair is the most used support product; the most commonly used treatments are respiratory physiotherapy, gait training, kinesitherapy and hydrotherapy; and the most frequently treated disease at Special Education centers in Cantabria is cerebral palsy.
