Divulgación matemática: su uso en educación primaria

Abstract

RESUMEN La sociedad entiende las matemáticas como algo complicado, innecesario y difícil de entender. Los niños en las escuelas las temen y las estudian a duras penas. Los medios de comunicación las mantienen en un segundo plano al considerarlas como algo inútil e innecesario. La divulgación de las matemáticas sugiere cambiar esta visión de la sociedad hacia ellas mediante una serie de objetivos, cambios y propuestas necesarias que comiencen desde la escuela. Las matemáticas se encuentran constantemente a nuestro alrededor y es nuestro deber como ciudadanos saber responder a los problemas que nos vayamos encontrando, llevando una vida plena y digna desde nuestra infancia. En este trabajo analizo las características que considero imprescindibles para realizar una divulgación matemática en Educación Primaria lo más satisfactoria posible. Para ello, cuento con las tres bases esenciales para su ejecución: saber las características de nuestro receptor, el alumno; dominar el currículo con el que trabajar, conociendo sus objetivos y llevando a cabo las pautas que nos marca; y examinar todos los recursos que tenemos a nuestra disposición.

ABSTRACT Society understands mathematics as something complicated, unnecessary and difficult to understand. Children fear them and study them with difficulties in the schools. The mass media are kept them in the background because they are consider them useless and unnecessary. The spread of mathematics suggests to change this view of society with a series of objectives, changes and proposals that begin from the school. Mathematics is constantly around us and it is our duty as citizens to know how to react to the problems that we are encountering, leading a full and worthy life since our childhood. This research analyzes the characteristics that I consider essential to make a mathematical disclosure in Primary Education as satisfactory as possible. For this, I have made a review the three essential bases for its execution: know the characteristics of our receiver, the student; master the curriculum with which to work, knowing its objectives and carrying out the guidelines that mark us; and examine all the resources that we have at our disposal.
