Con motivo aparente. La Universidad a debate

Abstract

Resumen: El artículo plantea una reflexión sobre la Universidad, considerando cuáles deben ser sus propósitos y tomando como referencia los argumentos que han esgrimido expertos y gestores sobre los retos a los que ésta se enfrenta. Los cambios que se están viviendo en la institución no pueden entenderse sin tener en cuenta la centralidad de la economía del conocimiento y la introducción de la lógica mercantilista en la docencia, investigación y gestión. El artículo finaliza con algunas ideas sobre cómo construir otra Universidad, más preocupada por buscar soluciones a los problemas de las personas y sociedades.

Abstract: This paper reflects on the university, considering what their purposes should be, taking into account some of the arguments raised by experts and managers about the challenges it has to face. The changes that are happening in the university cannot be understood without taking into account the central role of the economy of knowledge and the introduction of commercial thought into teaching, research and bureaucracy. This article ends with some ideas on how to build a different type of university, more concerned with finding solutions to the problems of individuals and societies
