Un viaje a través de los bosques: Tolkien y la Ecopedagogía en el aula de Primaria

Abstract

RESUMEN: El cuidado del medio ambiente es uno de los temas que cada vez preocupan más a la sociedad, debido al aumento alarmante de la degradación del planeta. Si queremos aportar soluciones fiables, debemos educar en un desarrollo sostenible de manera que se reduzcan las causas que provocan el deterioro de la Tierra. Uno de los grandes autores del siglo XX, J. R. R. Tolkien, era un gran defensor de la naturaleza, actitud bien probada a través de su obra más reconocida, El señor de los Anillos. El protagonismo del que disfruta la naturaleza, en los libros, nos proporciona suficiente material didáctico para concienciar sobre el cuidado del medio ambiente en nuestras aulas.

ABSTRACT: The protection of the environment is one of the arguments that increasingly are concerning our global society, due to the alarming increase in the degradation of the planet. If we are trying to provide reliable solutions, we must educate on sustainable development, so that the causes of the deterioration of the Earth could be reduced. One of the greatest writers of the Twentieth Century, J. R. R. Tolkien, was a great defender of Nature, proving his commitment with the environment through his most recognized work: The Lord of the Rings. The relevance and magnitude of Nature in all his books provide an excellent material in order to spread knowledge and sensibility about environmental topics in our Primary classroom.
