La biblioteca y las publicaciones científico-técnicas de la Junta de Obras del Puerto de Santander : (1873-1945)

Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente investigación doctoral está orientada hacia la cultura patrimonial de la ingeniería a través del estudio del circuito librario y, específicamente, sobre la formación de la biblioteca técnica de la Junta de Obras del Puerto de Santander entre 1873 y 1945, tomando como punto de partida la documentación económica generada por el Puerto de Santander, que corresponde con la serie documental denominada Cuentas Generales, conservada en el Centro de Documentación de la Autoridad Portuaria de Santander. La elaboración de una bibliografía de ingeniería marítima y portuaria entre 1873 y 1945, no solo ha proporcionado una poderosa herramienta de trabajo que allana la labor de investigadores e interesados en las bibliotecas especializadas de ingeniería marítima y portuaria, ayudando a los estudios sobre la evolución de los conocimientos tecnológicos en infraestructuras portuarias y sus procedimientos constructivos a finales del siglo XIX y la primera mitad del XX, sino que, también, ha permitido reconstruir el comercio del libro técnico, la historia de la lectura y los circuitos de cultura escrita (con especial detalle en el comercio de papel e identificación de las filigranas) en la ciudad de Santander entre 1873 y 1945.

ABSTRACT: This doctoral research is oriented toward the cultural heritage of engineering through the study of book circuit and, specifically, on the training of the technical library of the Junta de Obras del Puerto de Santander between 1873 and 1945, taking as a point of departure the economic documents generated by Port of Santander, which corresponds with the documentary series called Cuentas Generales, preserved in the Documentation Center of the Port Authority of Santander The elaboration of a bibliography of maritime engineering and port between 1873 and 1945, has not only provided a powerful tool of work that paves the work of researchers and interested in the specialized libraries of maritime and port engineering, helping the studies on the evolution of the technological knowledge in port infrastructure and its construction procedures at the end of the XIX century and the first half of the twentieth century, but has also allowed reconstruction of the book trade technical, the history of reading and the circuits of written culture (with special detail in the trade of paper and identification of the watermarks) in the city of Santander between 1873 and 1945.
