dc.description.abstractWith the world’s growing awareness about the environmental pollution and fossil fuel depletion, alternative clean energy sources are in urgent demand. One of these sources are the fuel cells, designed for portable, stationary and automotive applications. This project focuses on the synthesis of direct methanol fuel cell electrocatalysts. Electrocatalysts based on Platinum and Ruthenium on mesoporous carbons (PtRu/MC) and based on Platinum and Ruthenium on mesoporous carbons doped with Tungsten Trioxide (PtRu/MC-WO3). The physical and electrochemical characterization of the catalysts has be carried out in order to check their performances over the existing commercial electrocatalysts.es_ES
