El pensamiento político de Rodrigo Sánchez de Arévalo en la resolución del conflicto entre el Papado y el Imperio a mediados del siglo XV

Abstract

RESUMEN El pensamiento político medieval experimenta un gran desarrollo hasta llegar al siglo XV, de mano de autores como Juan de Salisbury, Egidio Romano o Guillermo de Ockham, entre otros. En este trabajo de investigación se profundizará en la literatura surgida del enfrentamiento entre el Papa y el Imperio, prestando especial atención a la aportación de Rodrigo Sánchez de Arévalo, uno de los tratadistas castellanos más importantes que abordan este conflicto. Además, se prestará atención a distintas cuestiones relacionadas con el Humanismo, la tratadística medieval y la situación política de Castilla en el siglo XV.

ABSTRACT The medieval political thought undergoes a great development until the fifteenth century, hand of authors like John of Salisbury, Gil of Rome or William of Ockham… In this research we examine the literature emerged from the confrontation between the Papacy and the Empire, especially in the contribution of Rodrigo Sánchez de Arévalo´s, one of the most important treatise writer in Castile who approach that conflict. Also, we give attention to issues related to Humanism, medieval treatises and the political situation in Castile in the fifteenth century.
