La indispensabilidad del ferrocarril en el desarrollo económico español: estado de la cuestión

Abstract

RESUMEN: El papel del ferrocarril en el desarrollo económico español es uno de los temas de discusión historiográfica más importantes. El objetivo de este trabajo es describir las circunstancias en las que se desarrolló el sistema ferroviario y su impacto (positivo o negativo) en la economía española, así como las distintas interpretaciones que tiene en la comunidad académica y el estado de la cuestión en la actualidad.

ABSTRACT: The role of the railroad in the Spanish economic growth is one of the key topics in the historiographical discussion. The aim of this essay is to describe the circumstances in which the railroad was developed and its impact (positive or negative) in the Spanish economy, as well as the different interpretations which this has in the academia and the status of the issue nowadays.
