Eficacia de la terapia del neurodesarrollo en el movimiento de niños con parálisis cerebral: una revisión sistemática.

Abstract

RESUMEN: Objetivos: El objetivo de este artículo es determinar la evidencia de la eficacia de la terapia del neurodesarrollo(NDT) en el movimiento en niños con parálisis cerebral. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en Medline, PEDro, y Cochrane, así como en las revistas Developmental Medicine Child Neurology y APTA pediatric journal. Se realizó un programa de lectura crítica para garantizar su calidad. Por último se seleccionaron 6 artículos sobre los que se realizó el análisis de resultados. Resultados: En tres de los seis artículos se aportan resultados que reflejan un efecto positivo de NDT, con un aumento mayor a 1,825 puntos en la escala GMFM, lo que se considera un aumento mínimo significativo. En dos artículos que también evaluaron la terapia a través de la escala GMFM no obtuvieron resultados positivos significativos, siendo el mayor cambio 1,19. Por último un artículo evaluó la eficacia de la terapia en la funcionalidad del miembro afecto a través de la escala AHA, obteniendo resultados inferiores al valor mínimo de cambio significativos, 3,89. Discusión: A través de los resultados obtenidos podemos encontrar que la terapia del neurodesarrollo parece tener un efecto positivo en la función motora, sin embargo los resultados no son concluyentes y la efectividad del tratamiento depende de las variables de la muestra objetivo y la intervención. Conclusión. La terapia del neurodesarrollo tiene unos resultados positivos en el tratamiento del movimiento en niños con parálisis cerebral.

ABSTRACT: Objetive: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of neurodevelopmental treatment in the movement function of children with cerebral palsy. Methodology: A systematical research was done in the following data base: Medline, PEDro and Cochrane data bases, besides Developmental Medicine Child Neurology and APTA pediatric journal. In order to assess the quality of the studies, a critical reading was done. And finally six articles were selected. Results: Three of the six articles present results that support a positive change effect of NDT, with a greater score than 1,825, what is considered the minimum significantly change. In two articles that also evaluated the patient with the GMFM scale, there were not found significant positives changes scores. The biggest change in these articles was 1,19. Finally one article evaluated the efficacy of the therapy in the function of the affected limb, by the AHA scale. The results were lower than the minimum significant value, 3,89. Discussion: Regarding the results obtained NDT seems to have a positive effect on the motor function. Nevertheless results are not concluding and the effectiveness of this treatment depends on the objective sample's variables and the interventions. Conclusion: Neurodevelopmental therapy has positives results on the movement function of children with cerebral palsy.
