TEACCH, un método para abordar la complejidad de los TEA: análisis de su eficacia.

Abstract

RESUMEN: Los Trastornos del Espectro Autista (TEA) son un conjunto de desórdenes que en los últimos años han aumentado notablemente su prevalencia. Ante esta situación, surge la necesidad de ofrecer información general de este trastorno y sobre la eficacia de una de las intervenciones psicoeducativas más utilizada para paliar los déficits que este genera, el método TEACCH. Mediante la revisión y análisis (en base a cuestiones como población estudiada, objetivos, metodología o resultados obtenidos) de diferentes estudios e investigaciones se han hallado evidencias moderadas que apoyan, no de manera concluyente, la efectividad de esta intervención para mejorar las condiciones de vida y de partida de los TEA en diferentes contextos (escuela, hogar).

ABSTRACT: The autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that has notably grown in the recent years. Facing this situation, the need of providing general information about this disorder and the efficiency of one of the most used psychoeducational interventions to neutralize the deficit generated by it, the TEACCH method. Through revision and analysis (based on the studied population, objectives, methodology or obtained results) of different studies and investigations, there has been moderate evidence that support, in a non-conclusive manner, the effectivity of this intervention to improve the initial and living conditions of the ASD in different contexts (school, home).
