Santa María del Mar de Barcelona y el gótico catalán: Estado de la cuestión

Abstract

RESUMEN El gótico catalán es una particularidad del gótico que se da en el territorio español. Esta ramificación, pese a partir del estilo general, como es lógico tiene sus propias características, que distan mucho del gótico que se produce en el resto de España. Si bien es cierto se desarrolla en España en el mismo tiempo, a través de otras iglesias de la zona catalana podemos ver cómo se va imponiendo estas características o estilo a lo que se iba haciendo de manera más tradicional. Podemos ver que hay diferentes teorías sobre el gótico en cuanto a su origen, pero lo que sí es seguro es que se desarrolló por toda Europa. Dentro de este estilo cabe destacar a Santa María del Mar de Barcelona edificio emblema, el cual tiene las características principales que hacen a este estilo tan particular. Se erige como protagonista del trabajo, Santa María del Mar, y gracias a este edificio podemos reforzar las ideas presentadas a lo largo de la explicación del gótico. A través de dicha explicación recorremos las diferentes partes del edificio con la intención de hacer una descripción del mismo.

ABSTRACT The Catalonian gothic is a peculiarity that occurs in the Spanish territory. This kind despite being a part of the overall style, logically has its own characteristics, which are far from the gothic produced in the rest of Spain. Although it is true that it developed in Spain at the same time, through other churches in the Catalonian area we can see how these characteristics or style are imposed to what was becoming more traditionally. We see that there are different theories as to the gothic´s origin, but what is certain is that developed across Europe. In this style is included Santa María del Mar of Barcelona the emblem building, which has the main characteristics that make this style so particular. This building stands as the protagonist of the work, and thanks to this building can reinforce the ideas presented throughout the explanation of the gothic. Through this explanation we can see the different parts of the building with the intention of making a description of it.
