La educación intercultural en el currículo oficial y en los libros de texto de educación infantil: ¿Utopía o realidad?

Abstract

RESUMEN Las sociedades actuales se caracterizan por ser diversas y heterogéneas y, por ese motivo, debemos repensar la educación que queremos darle a los alumnos que se organizan en nuestras aulas. Para ello, el currículo puede ofrecer una serie de posibilidades para propiciar una educación intercultural que acoja a todos los niños sin importar sus características, origen, cultura, lengua, costumbres, nivel económico, social o cultural. Con este trabajo analizamos hasta qué punto esa ansiada educación intercultural forma parte del currículo oficial y si los materiales editoriales de educación infantil muestran concordancia con dicho currículo; es decir, nuestro objetivo es considerar si, tanto el currículo escolar como los libros de texto de educación infantil, son favorecedores o limitadores en el momento de desarrollar una ineludible educación intercultural y conocer de qué manera lo realizan en el caso de que lo hagan.

ABSTRACT The current communities are characterized for being diverse and heterogeneous and, for that reason, we must rethink the education that we want to give to the pupils we have in our classrooms. For it, the curriculum can offer a series of possibilities to favour an intercultural education that admits all the children without matter his characteristics, origin, culture, language, customs, economic, social or cultural level. With this work, we analyze until point this longed intercultural education forms a part of the official curriculum and if the publishing materials of childhood education show conformity with the above mentioned curriculum, It is to say, our aim is to consider if both, the school curriculum and the childhood education text books, are favouring or limiting, in the moment to develop an unavoidable intercultural education, and know that way it uses to achieve it if it does it.
