Materiales y recursos en el aprendizaje de las matemáticas en la Educación Infantil

Abstract

RESUMEN A lo largo del proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje, los materiales y recursos y el uso adecuado de los mismos cobran un especial protagonismo. En el ámbito de la lógica-matemática durante la Educación Infantil, un correcto conocimiento de los materiales por parte de los docentes facilita y motiva el aprendizaje de los escolares. En este trabajo se muestra la importancia de los materiales en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje en la etapa infantil, con las ventajas y limitaciones de su uso y el papel del docente ante ellos; se analiza el tratamiento que hace el currículum actual de Educación Infantil de los materiales; se muestra una clasificación de materiales y recursos propios del ámbito lógico-matemático en la Educación Infantil; se presentan una serie de actividades que hacen uso de algunos de los materiales más extendidos, como el ábaco y los bloques lógicos, o los recursos más habituales, como piedras o palillos. Finalmente, se aportan algunas actividades para la enseñanza del sistema de numeración mediante materiales.

ABSTRACT Throughout the process of teaching and learning, materials and resources, and the suitable use of them, have a special importance on it. In the field of logical mathematical during preprimary education, the right understanding of the materials by teachers make easier and encourage schoolchildren´s learning. This project shows the importance of the materials on teaching and learning in children´s development. We have studied the advantages and limitations of their use and the responsibility of teachers on them. It is analyzed the treatment of the materials made by the curriculum of preprimary education, furthermore a sequence of materials and proper resources of the logical-mathematical field in preprimary education are shown throughout activities using the most common materials, such as the abacus and logic blocks or other resources like stones or sticks. Finally, it provides a sequence of activities to teach numbering system, using a wide range of different materials.
