Abstract

La llegada del siglo XXI estuvo marcada por la configuración de un orden unipolar que le otorgaba a Estados Unidos el rol de la gran potencia hegemónica con la finalización de la Guerra Fría. Sin embargo, nuevas tendencias indican que todo eso podría haber cambiado. La irrupción de China en el panorama internacional está transformando de manera profunda el equilibrio global, cuestionando las estructuras tradicionales del orden mundial. El presente trabajo pretende contextualizar los movimientos estratégicos que ambas potencias han estado poniendo en práctica estos últimos años y cómo estos se han convertido en una competición de grandes poderes. Desde la guerra de los aranceles hasta el dominio de los semiconductores, Estados Unidos y China están poniendo en despliegue todas sus herramientas políticas y económicas sobre la mesa, bajo la atenta mirada de un mundo que está siguiendo por primera vez en tiempo real y en HD cómo evoluciona uno de los procesos geopolíticos más relevantes de este siglo

The beginning of the 21st century was marked by the emergence of a unipolar order that granted the United States the role of the dominant hegemonic power following the end of the Cold War. However, new trends suggest that this reality may have changed. China’s rise on the international stage is profoundly reshaping the global balance of power and challenging the traditional structures of the world order. This paper aims to contextualize the strategic moves that both powers have implemented in recent years and how these have evolved into a great power competition. From the trade war to the battle over semiconductor dominance, the United States and China are deploying all their political and economic tools, under the watchful eye of a world witnessing in real time and high definition the unfolding of one of the most significant geopolitical processes of this century
