Evolución del turismo en cantabria desde 1951 hasta la actualidad

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es analizar la evolución y las características del sector turístico en Cantabria desde mediados del siglo XX hasta la actualidad, con el objetivo de comprender como ha cambiado la oferta hotelera, al mismo tiempo que se identifican las tendencias y retos del sector. El análisis se orienta a entender la capacidad, tipo y calidad de los alojamientos, así como la estacionalidad y el perfil de la demanda turística en Cantabria, poniendo énfasis en cómo la región ha mejorado la calidad de su oferta para atraer turistas nacionales e internacionales, dando respuesta a nuevas expectativas de los turistas. Además de esto, también se identifican los principales desafíos a los que se enfrenta el sector y se plantea la importancia de innovar y adaptar la infraestructura para mejorar la competitividad y promover un turismo más equilibrado. En general, el objetivo del trabajo busca proporcionar una visión completa de la evolución del alojamiento turístico en Cantabria, brindando una base sólida para orientar políticas y estrategias que impulsen un turismo sostenible y de alta calidad.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the evolution and characteristics of the tourism sector in Cantabria from the mid-20th century to the present, with the aim of understanding how the hotel offering has changed, while also identifying the sector's trends and challenges. The analysis aims to understand the capacity, type, and quality of accommodations, as well as the seasonality and profile of tourism demand in Cantabria, emphasizing how the region has improved the quality of its offering to attract national and international tourists, responding to new tourist expectations. Furthermore, the main challenges facing the sector are identified and the importance of innovating and adapting tourism infrastructure to improve competitiveness and foster a more balanced tourism is raised. Overall, the paper aims to offer a comprehensive overview of the evolution of tourist accommodation in Cantabria, providing a solid basis for guiding policies and strategies that promote sustainable, quality tourism.
