dc.description.abstract	Los imaginarios geográficos de Sierra Nevada aún no han sido aún investigados desde una perspectiva hermenéutica en el marco de la geografía cultural. Este artículo examina uno de aquellos imaginarios, concretamente el creado por los viajeros anglosajones de época romántica. A través del análisis y la contextualización cultural de diversas imágenes y narrativas de Sierra Nevada, aparecidas en los relatos de viaje británicos de la primera mitad del siglo XIX, el artículo investiga las metáforas que han conformado tal imaginario, los discursos globales de los cuales surgió, y las interconexiones habidas entre ellos. Con ello, se pretende situar sus contenidos y significados en el contexto global del conocimiento de la alta montaña europea. Para ello, el artículo muestra cómo los modelos estéticos y las narrativas convencionales de los paisajes de alta montaña, anteriormente empleados en la construcción de los imaginarios de los Alpes, circularon cronológica y geográficamente a través de distintos artefactos culturales, siendo, de esta manera, reinterpretados en las descripciones y representaciones de Sierra Nevada. El artículo ofrece así una propuesta de análisis hermenéutico de las representaciones de Sierra Nevada en relación con los recientes debates en torno a las «geografías de recepción» del paisaje.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Geographical imaginations of Sierra Nevada have not been investigated yet from a hermeneutic perspective within the frame of Cultural Geography. This article examines one of those imaginations, namely that created by the Anglo-Saxon travelers of the Romantic period. Through the analysis and the cultural contextualization of diverse images and narratives of Sierra Nevada, appeared in the nineteenth-century British travel accounts, the article examines the metaphors that carved out such a landscape imaginary, the global discourses from which they arose, and the interconnections between them. In so doing, the paper aims to place the meanings of the visions of Sierra Nevada within the global context of the knowledge of European high mountain. Thus, the article shows how the aesthetic patterns and conventional narratives of mountain landscapes, previously employed in the symbolic acquaintance of the Alps, travelled across time and space through different cultural media, and were reinterpreted in the descriptions of Sierra Nevada.	es_ES
