La figura del consignatario de buques

Abstract

Este es un trabajo el cual intenta responde a la pregunta que a lo largo del grado de Ingeniería Náutica y Transporte Marítimo nos ha podido surgir a los alumnos, ¿Cuál es la figura del consignatario? Para responder a esta pregunta indagamos alrededor de todo lo que esta figura abarca. Primero se da un repaso al comercio marítimo hasta la actualidad y tras esto se analiza la figura del consignatario viendo su historia, concepto jurídico, la legislación a la cual se puede ver aplicado y las funciones que este puede realizar en puerto, terminando con un ejemplo de consignación en el puerto de Alicante.

This paper tries to answer a question that may have arisen among students throughout the Degree in Nautical Engineering and Maritime Transport: What is the role of the ship agent? To answer this question, we investigate all aspects surrounding this figure. First, we made a review of the evolution of maritime trade up to the present day. Then, we analyse the role of the ship agent in depth, covering its historical background, legal definition, applicable legislation, and the functions it performs in port, finishing with a practical example of ship agency at the Port of Alicante.
