Entre documentos y memoria: prácticas en el Archivo Catedralicio y Diocesano de Santander

Abstract

Este trabajo recoge la experiencia desarrollada en el Archivo Diocesano y Catedralicio de Santander (ACDS), un archivo histórico eclesiástico ubicado en Cantabria. Como memoria de prácticas expone las distintas tareas desempeñadas que abarcan desde el tratamiento archivístico de los documentos transferidos hasta las labores de difusión y atención al público. Sin embargo, antes de abordar el desarrollo de las prácticas, se presenta un marco teórico para contextualizar qué son los archivos, las fases que los caracterizan y una aproximación a la historia de los archivos eclesiásticos y diocesanos, incidiendo en la historia del propio ACDS. Asimismo se menciona la situación del patrimonio documental eclesiástico de Cantabria durante la Guerra Civil, como aspecto particular de este trabajo, incluido por lo observado durante la estancia en el archivo.

This work presents the experience developed at the Diocesan and Cathedral Archive of Santander (ACDS), a historical ecclesiastical archive located in Cantabria. As an internship report, it presents the various tasks performed, including from the archival processing of transferred documents to dissemination and public service. However, before explaining and describing the development of the internship, a theoretical framework is presented to contextualize what archives are, the phases that characterize them, and an approach of the history of ecclesiastical and diocesan archives, focusing on the history of the ACDS itself. As well it is mentioned the situation of the ecclesiastical documentary heritage of Cantabria during the Civil War as a and specific aspect of this work, because of what was observed during the stay in the archive.
