Diseño de un sintetizador de RF de gran ancho de banda y bajo ruido de fase

Abstract

En este proyecto se va a ejemplificar el proceso de diseño de un sintetizador de RF, capaz de generar frecuencias desde al menos 50 MHz hasta 20 GHz, que tenga potencia de salida variable haciendo uso de atenuadores digitales internos y etapa de filtrado de armónicos mediante bancos de filtros. Para ello se estudiarán las diferentes alternativas de fabricación que hay y se elegirá la que mejor resultado dé y mejor se adapte a las necesidades en función de nuestras especificaciones iniciales. Tras haber elegido la tecnología a utilizar, se realizará el diseño del sintetizador, englobando en este proceso desde la fase inicial en un entorno de simulación hasta el diseño de los elementos que lo conforman físicamente, como son la PCB o la mecánica. Finalmente, tras su diseño y fabricación, se deberá medir la unidad y se comprobará que cumple con las especificaciones propuestas en un inicio.

This project aims to illustrate the design process of an RF synthesizer capable of generating frequencies ranging from at least 50 MHz to 20 GHz, featuring variable output power through the use of internal digital attenuators and harmonic filtering stages implemented via filter banks. To achieve this, different manufacturing alternatives will be studied, and the one that provides the best performance and best fits the initial requirements will be selected. Once the appropriate technology has been chosen, the synthesizer will be designed, covering the entire process from the initial simulation phase to the physical design of its components, such as the PCB and mechanical enclosure. Finally, after the unit has been designed and fabricated, it will be measured and verified to ensure it meets the specifications initially defined.
