(marketing, lobbying, influencia científica y responsabilidad social corporativa):
impacto y actuar desarrollando estrategias preventivas individuales y
| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of morbidity
and mortality worldwide. Historically, their study has focused on individual and
social factors, but recently, other types of factors, known as Commercial
Determinants of Health (CDH), have gained relevance. They are a set of
strategies carried out by commercial actors that induce lifestyles (addictive or not)
with a negative impact on health.
This paper focuses on the critical study of four of these strategies (marketing,
lobbying, scientific influence, and corporate social responsibility): what they are,
how they are carried out, and their importance. How, through these activities, the
CDH industries modify the socioeconomic environment for its own economic
benefit and induce lifestyles linked to disease risk factors.
Knowing and understanding these common and defining mechanisms of every
CDH industry will allow healthcare professionals to be aware of their impact and
take action by developing effective individual and community preventive
strategies aimed at protecting population health. | es_ES |
