Abstract

La construcción moderna del concepto de infancia se ha basado en dos aspectos fundamentalmente: la vulnerabilidad y la dependencia, que son consideradas las características más significativas. Ello ha propiciado una consideración de la infancia en términos de discriminación positiva en el sentido de atender las necesidades especiales de los niños, niñas y adolescentes respetando las características particulares de los mismos. Esta discriminación también es negativa en cuanto ignora a la infancia como grupo social capaz de participar en la construcción social y al no tener en cuenta el impacto que las acciones de carácter global llevadas a cabo por las sociedades tienen sobre la misma. En el artículo los autores analizan el modo en que esta discriminación se ha llevado a cabo y cómo afecta a la infancia en la sociedad contemporánea, planteando la necesidad de un reconocimiento efectivo de la misma a través de la participación real y la necesidad de incluir de forma trasversal los derechos de la infancia como eje en el desarrollo político, social y cultural de los estados.

The modern building of children concept was based on two fundamental aspects: the vulnerability and dependence are considered the most significant features. This has led to a consideration of the child in terms of positive discrimination in the sense of meeting the special needs of children and adolescents respecting their individual characteristics. This discrimination is also negative in children ignored as a social group capable of participating in social construction and without considering the impact of global actions undertaken by companies have on her. In the article the authors discuss how this discrimination has taken place and how it affects children in contemporary society, focusing on the necessity of effective recognition of the same through the actual participation and the need to include transverse form of children’s rights as an axis in the political, social and cultural states.
