La conciencia de Melibea

Abstract

En este trabajo analizo cómo Melibea es un personaje caracterizado coherente-mente por su conciencia, su gran conocimiento de sí misma y del lugar en el que vive, teniendo en cuenta las diferentes perspectivas y teorías que han analizado este personaje previamente. Su comportamiento es fácilmente comprensible te-niendo en cuenta su pertenencia a la esfera privada y pública de la sociedad y el juego que lleva a cabo entre las dos para conseguir vivir el amor sin consecuencias públicas, cosa que queda truncada al morir Calisto en su propia casa.

In this paper I analize how Melibea is characterized coherently by her concious-ness, her deep knowledge of herself and of the place where she lives, according to the different perspectives and theories that have approached this character previously. Her behaviour can be easily understood according to her engagement with the public and private spheres of society, and the role that she has to play between them in order to live her love without public consequences, something that is not achieved because of Calisto?s death in her own home.
