Resumen/Abstract
The Pauli matrix method can be extended to macroscopic optical devices to separate the different basic effects that can take place into optical devices analyzed by the Jones matrix. This method to measure the influence of the different effects can be extended to optical devices and objects analyzed by means of the Mueller matrix method, and applied to the characterization of their optical properties through their polarization behaviour, and the polarization state and degree of polarization can be analyzed by means of the corresponding Mueller-coherence matrix. This matricial method based on Mueller-coherence matrix is applied on a optical device in order to analyse the different polarization effects that it produces. This method allows a clear interpretation of the experimental data on both depolarising and non-depolarising objects,. This variation of the polarization parameters can be related to different physical properties of the devices.
