La literatura “menor” de J.R.R. Tolkien como herramienta didáctica en 5º de Educación Primaria

Abstract

Este Trabajo Fin de Grado analiza el potencial educativo de dos de las obras “menores” de J.R.R. Tolkien (El Señor Bliss y “La Piedra Fiel”) como herramienta didáctica para el alumnado de 5º de Primaria. Se centra en cómo estas obras pueden contribuir al desarrollo integral del alumnado. El trabajo se fundamenta en un marco teórico que explora las diferencias entre la literatura mimética y no mimética, estableciendo los subgéneros de esta última. Además, analiza los beneficios de la literatura fantástica y maravillosa para el alumnado y, por último, realiza un breve recorrido por la vida de J.R.R. Tolkien, autor de las obras seleccionadas y, al mismo tiempo, un pequeño análisis de algunas de sus obras. Posteriormente, se presenta una propuesta didáctica diseñada a partir de las dos obras seleccionadas y cuya finalidad es enriquecer el currículo y promover el amor por la lectura. Para ello, se han desarrollado 7 sesiones en las que se trabajan diferentes contenidos, principalmente de la asignatura de Lengua Castellana y Literatura, a través de un enfoque metodológico activo, participativo y colaborativo. Como conclusión, se puede determinar que el uso de estas dos obras, junto con una propuesta didáctica que motive al alumnado, permite enriquecer el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de tal manera, que el aprendizaje que reciban los alumnos resulte más significativo.

This Final Degree Project analyses the educational potential of two of J.R.R. Tolkien's "minor" works (Mr. Bliss and "The Faithful Stone") as a teaching tool for 5th grade Primary students. It focuses on how these works can contribute to the students' comprehensive development. The project is based on a theoretical framework that explores the differences between mimetic and non-mimetic literature, establishing the subgenres of the latter. In addition, it analyses the benefits of fantastic and wonderful literature for students and, finally, it makes a brief overview of the life of J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the selected works and, at the same time, a small analysis of some of his works. Subsequently, a teaching proposal designed from the two selected works is presented, the purpose of which is to enrich the curriculum and promote a love of reading. To this end, 7 sessions have been developed in which different contents are worked on, mainly from the subject of Spanish Language and Literature, through an active, participatory and collaborative methodological approach. In conclusion, it can be determined that the use of these two works, together with a didactic proposal that motivates the students, allows the teaching and learning process to be enriched in such a way that the learning received by the students is more significant.
