Conexiones entre representaciones algebraicas y gráficas de funciones polinómicas

Abstract

Las funciones matemáticas, son un concepto complejo e importante para entender y modelizar el mundo que nos rodea. Dicho concepto se comienza a aprender en la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, el cual se puede representar a través de distintos sistemas de representación, como por ejemplo, el algebraico, el tabular y el gráfico. Debido a la gran importancia que tiene la manipulación de los distintos sistemas de representación y la transformación en el proceso de aprendizaje del concepto, el objetivo fundamental de este trabajo es analizar cómo los alumnos establecen conexiones entre las representaciones gráficas y algebraicas de las funciones polinómicas. Para ello, se llevará a cabo una investigación en un Instituto de Educación Secundaria, en el que se realizará una actividad con un grupo de alumnos de Bachillerato de la que posteriormente se obtendrán conclusiones.

Mathematical functions are a complex and important concept for understanding and modeling the world around us. This concept begins to be taught in Secondary Education, and it can be represented through different representation systems, such as algebraic, tabular, and graphical ones. Due to the significant importance of manipulating different representation systems and transforming them in the learning process, the main objective of this work is to analyze how students establish connections between the graphical and algebraic representations of polynomial functions. To carry out this research, an activity will be conducted at a Secondary Education Institute with a group of high school students. Based on the participation of the students in this activity, the necessary conclusions for the study will be obtained.
