Resumen/Abstract
This work deals with the simulation, manufacturing and measuring of apertura fed microstrip patchs antennas in Ku Band (17.2 GHz). Linear polarization, optimum gains and 200MHz minimum bandwidth for a 15dB return loss are required. A single patch has been designed under those restrictive specifications. The optimized single antenna, bandwidth 200 MHz and gain 7 dBi, was used as basic block for the design of four and eight element arrays. Theoretical gains of 13 and 17dBi and 15dB bandwidths of 300 and 400MHz were obtained for the optimized designs. The models have been implemented and are being tuned for in ban operation by improving the manufacturing process.
