Análisis de la situación actual del transporte marítimo en el panorama internacional y descarbonización del sector

Abstract

Este Trabajo Fin de Grado nace con un objetivo muy claro, analizar la situación actual del transporte marítimo, así como, las diferentes alternativas para la descarbonización del sector, ya que es un tema que actualmente se presenta como el principal desafío de la sociedad en lo que ha transporte se refiere. Con el propósito de estudiar la situación actual, se lleva a cabo un análisis de los diferentes elementos que tanto han influido en el desarrollo del comercio y del transporte marítimo, desde los diferentes tipos de buques y contenedores, hasta los incoterms y las principales causas del cambio de las rutas establecidas. Para el análisis de las diferentes alternativas de la descarbonización del sector, se desarrollará de manera breve, la evolución de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero a lo largo de los años. Más tarde se explorará el marco normativo internacional para la descarbonización, diferenciando entre normas generales y específicas que rigen la industria. Finalmente, se evalúan los diferentes combustibles alternativos como el Gas Natural Licuado (GNL), biocombustibles y combustibles cero emisiones (hidrógeno y amoníaco), destacando sus beneficios y desafíos, así como, principales proyectos futuros.

This Final Degree Project was born with a very clear objective, to analyze the current situation of maritime transport, as well as the different alternatives for the decarbonization of the sector, since it is a topic that is currently presented as the main challenge for society in terms of What transportation is referring to. With the purpose of studying the current situation, an analysis is carried out of the different elements that have influenced the development of trade and maritime transport, from the different types of ships and containers, to the incoterms and the main causes of the change of established routes. For the analysis of the different alternatives for the decarbonization of the sector, the evolution of greenhouse gas emissions over the years will be briefly developed. Later, the international regulatory framework for decarbonization will be explored, differentiating between general and specific regulations that govern the industry. Finally, different alternative fuels such as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), biofuels and zero-emission fuels (hydrogen and ammonia) are evaluated, highlighting their benefits and challenges, as well as main future projects.
