Evaluación del progreso de los ODS: análisis comparativo de regiones

Abstract

En el año 2015 se aprueba la Agenda 2030 integrada por los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) como respuesta por parte de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) a la problemática a la que nos enfrentamos que condiciona el desarrollo social, económico y medioambiental. Se trata de 17 objetivos, con 169 metas concretas que actuarán en todos los campos afectados. En este trabajo se analizan los ODS desde su origen hasta la actualidad y cómo estos se han ido desarrollando en las distintas regiones del mundo. Se aprecia como factores como la región o el nivel de renta afectan de forma directa a la consecución de los ODS. Otros, en cambio, como el número de habitantes de un territorio no condicionan a esa consecución. Por otro lado, vemos como la unión y el consenso de países facilita el cumplimiento en los objetivos teniendo como principal ejemplo la diferencia existente entre Europa y la Unión Europea. Finalmente, otro punto que se destaca es que los dos acontecimientos que más han afectado negativamente a los ODS en los últimos años han sido la COVID-19 y la guerra en Ucrania

In 2015, the 2030 Agenda was approved, comprising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a response by the United Nations (UN) to the issues we face that affect social, economic, and environmental development. These consist of 17 goals with 169 specific targets that address all affected areas. This work analyzes the SDGs from their inception to the present day and examines how they have progressed in different regions of the world. It highlights how factors such as region and income level directly impact the achievement of the SDGs. In contrast, other factors, such as the population size of a territory, do not influence this achievement. Additionally, it is observed that the unity and consensus among countries facilitate the accomplishment of the goals, with the primary example being the difference between Europe and the European Union. Finally, another key point is that the two events that have most negatively impacted the SDGs in recent years have been COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine
