dc.description.abstract | Three different extensions of the FDTD method for the treatment of lossy dielectrics are considered: the tim- average (TA), the time-forward (TF) and the time-backward (TB) difference schemes. An analytical study of the stability properties and numerical dispersion of these schemes is presented. Analytical stability conditions, based on the von Neumann method, are obtained and validated through numerical simulations. The numerical dispersion properties are established in terms of the discrete lossy dielectrics wavelength and skin depth. The expressions obtained are also validated numerically. | es_ES |
