Estudio técnico-económico del proceso de adaptación de emisiones de un buque Ro-Pax tipo, ante la consideración del mar Mediterráneo como Zona ECA

Abstract

En el presente Trabajo Fin de Master se va a realizar un estudio técnico sobre las emisiones que emite a la atmosfera un buque Ro-Pax tipo, que se encuentra navegando en el Mar Mediterráneo en la actualidad, así como, un estudio ecónomico de las mejoras e implantaciones que deberá incorporar el buque, con el fin de mantener la misma operatividad, debido a la consideración del Mar Mediterráneo como Zona ECA en el año 2025. Para comenzar el trabajo, hablaremos sobre lo que son las zonas ECA, del convenio Marpol y del Mar Mediterráneo. Más adelante nos centraremos en los tipos de emisiones que emiten los buques, y cuáles de ellas son los que hay que tener en cuenta con las nuevas restricciones aprobadas por la OMI. La siguiente parte del trabajo se centrara en el estudio tecnico-económico, donde se tendrá en consideración el Mar Mediterráneo como zona ECA, por lo que, se hablara de las mejoras, cambios y/o implementaciones que tendrá que sufrir el buque para poder operar de igual manera que en la actualidad, realizando un análisis técnico y económico del impacto que va a suponer a la compañía armadora realizar estas mejoras. Para finalizar, calcularemos el tiempo que tardara la compañía en amortizar las mejoras e implementaciones del buque, y donde comparemos si las medidas a adoptar son las más adecuadas económicamente hablando. Todo lo hecho durante el transcurso del trabajo, será con el objetivo de llegar a unas conclusiones.

In this Final Master Project, a technical study will be carried out on the emissions emitted into the atmosphere by a Ro-Pax type ship, which is currently sailing in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as an economic study of the improvements. and implementations that the ship must incorporate, to maintain the same operation, due to the consideration of the Mediterranean Sea as an ECA Zone in the year 2025. To begin the work, we will talk about what the ECA zones, the Marpol convention and the Mediterranean Sea are. Later we will focus on the types of emissions that ships emit, and which of them must be considered with the new restrictions approved by the IMO. The next part of the work will focus on the technical-economic study, where the Mediterranean Sea will be taken into consideration as an ECA zone, therefore, we will talk about the improvements, changes and/or implementations that the ship will have to undergo to operate. in the same way as today, carrying out a technical and economic analysis of the impact that these improvements will have on the shipping company. Finally, we will calculate the time it will take the company to pay off the improvements and implementations of the ship, and where we will compare whether the measures to be adopted are the most appropriate economically speaking. Everything done during the work will be with the objective of reaching conclusions.
