Equidistribución de ceros de polinomios

Abstract

En esta memoria estudiaremos el teorema de Erdös-Turán enunciado en 1941 por los matemáticos húngaros Paul Erdös y Pál Turán que establece dos resultados principales: Si un polinomio mónico tiene magnitud pequeña en el círculo unitario y su coeficiente constante no es demasiado pequeño, entonces sus ceros se agrupan cerca del círculo unitario y se distribuyen uniformemente en ángulo. La discrepancia entre los ángulos de los ceros de un polinomio está limitada por una medida de la magnitud del polinomio en el círculo. En otras palabras, el teorema nos dice que los ceros de un polinomio “bien comportado” tienden a ubicarse cerca del borde del círculo unitario y a distribuirse de manera uniforme a lo largo de él.

In this paper we will study the Erdös-Turán theorem, stated in 1941 by the Hungarian mathematicians Paul Erdös and Pál Turán, which establishes two main results: If a monic polynomial has small magnitude on the unit circle and its constant coefficient is not too small, then its zeros cluster near the unit circle and are equidistributed in angle. The discrepancy between the angles of the zeros of a polynomial is bounded by a measure of the magnitude of the polynomial on the circle. In other words, the theorem tells us that the zeros of a “well-behaved” polynomial tend to be located near the edge of the unit circle and are evenly distributed along it.
