Construyendo una Educación Infantil a través de las aportaciones de la Escuela Nueva: Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP)

Abstract

El Movimiento Pedagógico de la Escuela Nueva, también conocido como el Movimiento de la Escuela Activa o Escuela Progresista, surgió a finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX como una respuesta a los métodos tradicionales de enseñanza que se consideraban rígidos y autoritarios. Este movimiento enfatizó la importancia del niño como centro del proceso educativo, promoviendo métodos que favorecen el aprendizaje activo, la curiosidad natural y el desarrollo integral de los estudiantes. Dentro de este nuevo movimiento pedagógico, surgió un enfoque llamado Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP), el cual es una metodología significativa de la Escuela Nueva que se basa en el aprendizaje activo, la colaboración y la resolución de problemas reales mediante proyectos educativos. La propuesta de intervención desarrollada en este trabajo, titulada “Seres Vivos”, se enmarca en el ABP y está diseñada para el segundo ciclo de Educación Infantil. Este proyecto tiene como objetivo principal fomentar el interés y el conocimiento de los niños sobre los seres vivos a través de actividades prácticas, investigaciones y proyectos colaborativos. La implementación de esta metodología en la Educación Infantil promueve un aprendizaje significativo, desarrollando habilidades cognitivas y sociales, y contribuyendo al desarrollo integral del alumnado. En resumen, este TFG ilustra la evolución de la Escuela Nueva y su influencia en las metodologías educativas actuales, destacando la efectividad del ABP en el contexto educativo actual.

The New School Pedagogical Movement, also known as the Active School Movement or Progressive School, emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a response to traditional teaching methods that were considered rigid and authoritarian. This movement emphasized the importance of the child as the center of the educational process, promoting methods that favored active learning, natural curiosity and the integral. Within this new pedagogical movement, an approach called Project Based Learning (PBL) emerged, which is a significant methodology of the New School that is based on active learning, collaboration and real problem solving through educational projects. The intervention proposal developed in this work, entitled “Living Beings”, is framed in PBL and is designed for the second cycle of Early Childhood Education. The main objective of this project is to foster children's interest and knowledge about living beings through practical activities, research and collaborative projects. The implementation of this methodology in Early Childhood Education promotes meaningful learning, developing cognitive and social skills, and contributing to the integral development of the students. In summary, this dissertation illustrates the evolution of the Escuela Nueva and its influence on current educational methodologies, highlighting the effectiveness of PBL in the current educational context.
