Esta propuesta investiga el desarrollo de la adquisición de los determinantes
posesivos durante la etapa de Educación Primaria en estudiantes de un colegio
bilingüe de Cantabria, España. El elemento morfosintáctico a estudiar crea
grandes dificultades en la adquisición del inglés como segunda lengua, por lo
que ha sido el foco de numerosos estudios que han querido dar respuesta al
porqué de las dificultades y los errores cometidos, teniendo en cuenta diversos
factores que influyen en la Adquisición de Segundas Lenguas tales como la
consciencia interlingüística, la transferencia positiva y negativa, los tipos de
posesión y las etapas de adquisición de los determinantes posesivos, aunque
no desde la perspectiva de la etapa de Educación Primaria. Gracias a la
literatura proporcionada por autores de investigaciones anteriores y los
resultados que esperamos obtener mediante esta propuesta, concluímos que
primero se adquirirán los determinantes posesivos de primera y segunda
persona del singular (my y your), mientras que los determinantes posesivos de
tercera persona del singular (his y her) se emplearán erróneamente en diversas
situaciones durante toda la etapa escolar debido a las discrepancias entre la
primera lengua (español) y la segunda lengua (inglés), por lo que los
estudiantes no alcanzarán un uso sin errores de estos determinantes.
This proposal explores the development of the acquisition of possessive
determiners throughout Primary Education in students from a bilingual school in
Cantabria, Spain. The morphosyntactic element to be studied creates great
difficulties in the acquisition of English as a second language. Hence, it has
been the focus of numerous studies that have wanted to explain the reason
behind the difficulties and errors committed, taking into account various agents
that affect Second Language Acquisition such as cross-linguistic awareness,
positive and negative transfer, types of possession, and acquisition stages, yet never from the perspective of Primary Education. Due to the previous literature
and the results we expect to obtain through this proposal, we conclude that the
first and second person singular possessive determiners (my and your) will be
the one acquired first, and third person singular possessive determiners (his
and her) will be misused in diverse situations throughout all these school years
as a result of the differences between the mother tongue (Spanish) and the
second language (English), therefore, the students will not achieve an error-free
use of these determiners.
