Vínculo de apego y psicopatología en el infante y adolescente

Abstract

La teoría del apego plasma la necesidad humana de la vinculación afectiva y permite comprender la influencia del primer vínculo en el mundo social y emocional del individuo. (5) (26) (43) En caso de que la figura de apego aporte al menor unos cuidados sensibles y continuados durante su crianza, el niño será capaz de crear representaciones mentales basadas en la seguridad, que se convertirán en competencias emocionales potenciadoras de la construcción de relaciones interpersonales sanas durante su infancia y adolescencia. (21) (23) (25) En cambio, una relación diádica cuyos cuidados maternales hayan sido insuficientes o desadaptados suscitará el establecimiento de un apego inseguro o desorganizado en el niño con mayor riesgo de sufrir consecuencias psicopatológicas durante su juventud temprana. (49) (55) (59) Debido a la trascendencia de estos hechos, los profesionales de enfermería han de actuar de forma coordinada y cooperativa con otros colectivos en la prevención del deterioro de la vinculación paterno-filial y en la promoción del apego seguro infantil con el fin de garantizar la protección de la salud mental de los menores y evitar de este modo repercusiones negativas a largo plazo, en su futura vida adulta. (5) (26) (43) If the attachment figure provides the child with sensitive and continuous care during his or her upbringing, the child will be able to create mental representations based on security, which will become emotional competencies that enhance the construction of healthy interpersonal relationships during childhood and adolescence. (21) (23) (25) On the other hand, a dyadic relationship whose maternal care has been insufficient or maladaptive will lead to the establishment of an insecure or disorganized attachment in the child with a greater risk of suffering psychopathological consequences during his early youth. (49) (55) (59) Due to the significance of these events, nursing professionals must act in coordination and cooperatively with other groups to prevent the deterioration of the parent-child bond and to promote secure child attachment in order to guarantee the protection of children´s mental health and thus avoid long-term negative repercussions in their future adult life.
