Algunos datos sobre la actividad minera durante los S. XIX-XX en el municipio de Rasines, Cantabria (España)

Abstract

El presente trabajo resume las actividades mineras existentes en el municipio de Rasines (Cantabria, España) durante los siglos XIX-XX. Esta actividad, en la actualidad desaparecida, ha estado ligada al contexto geológico existente en la zona y por otro lado a las necesidades de la población. Las principales actividades que han existido en la zona son: canteras de caliza y dolomía, hornos de calcinación y cocción y tejeras. Actualmente sólo se pueden encontrar los restos de dicha actividad, los cuales están en proceso de deterioro y de olvido. Sería conveniente llevara a cabo un programa de mantenimiento y de seguimiento de las diferentes estructuras existentes con el fin de preservarlas como parte de la cultura de la zona.

The present work summarizes the existing mining activities in the municipality of Rasines (Cantabria, Spain) during 19th and 20th centuries. This activity, at the present time disappeared, has been bound to the existing geology in the area and, on the other hand, to the necessities of the population. The main activities that have existed in the zone are: limestone and dolomite quarries, furnaces of calcination and burning and "tejeras". At the moment, the rest of this activity can only be found, which are in forgetfulness and deterioration process. It would be advisable carried out a program of maintenance and pursuit of the different existing structures with the purpose of preserving them like part of the culture of the zone.
