dc.description.abstract | Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a new optical technique allowing an all-optical, nondestructive and low cost imaging of the biological tissues. If the polarization properties of light are considered, then we have the Polarization-Sensitive OCT (PS-OCT). A new Mueller PS-OCT system, which acquires the full Mueller matrix of the sample, has been developed, providing a complete characterization of its polarization properties and obtaining real time images with a very high resolution. This system has been successfully used in different applications, like the analysis of burns in “ex vivo” and “in vivo” biological tissues, supplying a powerful instrument for the development of the “optical biopsy”. | es_ES |
