Abstract

En el presente trabajo se aborda un estudio sobre la mortalidad en la ciudad de Santander durante el primer trimestre del año 1931. La investigación se enmarca en el contexto histórico de este periodo, explorando las causas y las características demográficas de las defunciones registradas. Para ello, se emplea una metodología que combina el análisis de fuentes primarias, como el Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Santander y el Registro Civil de la ciudad de Santander. Este enfoque permite examinar detalladamente los datos disponibles y realizar un análisis profundo de la mortalidad por edad, sexo y geografía. Los resultados obtenidos se presentan en este documento, junto con las conclusiones derivadas de este análisis, ofreciendo una perspectiva integral de la mortalidad de la ciudad en el periodo estudiado.

The present study addresses an analysis of mortality in the city of Santander during the first quarter of the year 1931. The research is framed within the historical context of this period, exploring the causes and demographic characteristics of the recorded deaths. To achieve this, a methodology is employed that combines the analysis of primary sources, such as the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Santander and the Registro Civil de la ciudad Santander. This approach allows for a detailed examination of the available data and a thorough analysis of mortality by age, sex, and geography. The results obtained are presented in this document, along with the conclusions derived from this analysis, providing a comprehensive perspective of the mortality of the city during the studied period.
