Resumen/Abstract
The Future Internet Research and Experimentation (FIRE) initiative aims at achieving experimentation and testing in large-scale environments, through the creation of a
multidisciplinary research environment for investigating and experimentally validating highly innovative and revolutionary ideas for new networking and service paradigms.
SmartSantander FP7 project aims at the creation of an experimental test facility for the research and experimentation of architectures, key enabling technologies, services and
applications for the Internet of Things (IoT) in the context of a city. In this sense, this paper presents the deployed facility, emphasizing the capacity of experimenting over this large-scale testbed, through the reprograming of the deployed IoT devices with different code images. For this purpose, the implementation and validation of an Over the Air programming (OTAP) scheme has been carried out, coexisting with the service provision and experimentation ability simultaneously offered over the deployed facility.
