El maltrato infantil provoca daños en la estructura y funcionamiento de un cerebro
inmaduro, en desarrollo. El estrés temprano reiterado que sufren los menores es
una de las causas por las que el cerebro comienza a alterarse de manera
permanente. El tiempo y reiteración de los malos tratos definen cuanto y como
va a afectar a los menores psicológicamente por ello, se ha realizado una
revisión bibliográfica para averiguar cómo afectan los malos tratos en los niños
y niñas y como el funcionamiento típico del cerebro se ve afectado. Son durante
los primeros años cuando los menores se encuentran en un proceso de
desarrollo de capacidades, entre ellas las capacidades lingüísticas. Este periodo
sensible es crucial para su desarrollo a través de interacciones con el ambiente
y cuidadores pues, si los menores no reciben estímulos durante este periodo
puede ocasionar graves repercusiones en el lenguaje de estos, mostrando un
lenguaje tardío, pobre y descontextualizado.
Los resultados de la investigación que analiza la influencia de las situaciones de
adversidad en la primera infancia demuestran diferentes áreas del lenguaje
afectadas.
Desde el punto de vista del abordaje de las dificultades del lenguaje en la escuela
el conocimiento de esta cuestión resulta relevante y necesario.
Este trabajo analiza en profundidad esta cuestión a través de una revisión de las
investigaciones que abordan esta temática.
Child abuse causes damage to the structure and functioning of an immature,
developing brain. The repeated early stress suffered by children is one of the
reasons why the brain begins to alter permanently. The time and repetition of
maltreatment define how much and how it will affect children psychologically,
therefore, a bibliographic review has been carried out to find out how
maltreatment affects children and how the typical functioning of the brain is
affected. It is during the early years that children are in a process of skill
development, including language skills. This sensitive period is crucial for the
development of children through interactions with the environment and caregivers
because, if children do not receive stimuli during this period, it can cause serious
repercussions in their language, showing a late, poor and decontextualized
language.
The results of the research that analyzes the influence of adverse situations in
early childhood show that different areas of language are affected.
From the point of view of addressing language difficulties at school, knowledge
of this issue is relevant and necessary.
