El porqué de la escuela rural concertada en Cantabria

Abstract

Actualmente, la escuela concertada rural constituye un elemento desconocido y poco estudiado dentro del sistema educativo. Este documento persigue dar a conocer el origen y las características de este tipo de centros en la comunidad autónoma de Cantabria, exaltando además el potencial de la enseñanza rural en la actualidad y acercándose a la historia y evolución de este tipo de escuelas con el paso del tiempo. Para conocer por qué surgen los centros concertados rurales de la comunidad y cómo han cambiado hasta convertirse en lo que son hoy, se han enviado cuestionarios a sus directores y se han analizado sus webs. Con toda la información recogida, se concluye en que estos centros fueron de gran relevancia en su creación y que continúan siéndolo en la sociedad actual.

Nowadays, the subsidised rural school is an unknown and little studied element within the education system. This document aims to explain the origins and characteristics of this type of school in the autonomous community of Cantabria, highlighting the potential of rural education today, and to provide an insight into the history and evolution of this type of school over time. In order to find out why the community's subsidised rural schools arose and how they have changed to become what they are today, questionnaires were sent to their headmasters and their websites were analyzed. With all the information gathered, it is concluded that these schools were of great relevance when they were created and that they continue to be so in today's society.
