Actividades de escritura creativa para la animación a la escritura y el desarrollo de la imaginación y la creatividad en Educación Primaria

Abstract

La escritura es un proceso complejo que implica varias áreas del cerebro, lo que hace que cobre un gran valor en el campo académico. No obstante, la forma en que se lleva a cabo en las aulas hace de la escritura algo mecánico y falto de sentido, limitándose a la reproducción de ideas repetidas y ajenas al individuo, y centrando la mayor parte de la atención en la forma y no en el contenido. Esto causa que el alumnado se sienta desmotivado o incluso que rechace las actividades de escritura. Así mismo, las habilidades de creatividad e imaginación, que son de una importancia considerable para el ser humano y su formación como personas activas y dinámicas, capaces de afrontar la vida y solucionar posibles problemas que se les presenten, quedan relegadas a un segundo plano en las aulas, y eso si no son olvidadas por completo. Algo que podría aliviar estos problemas es la escritura creativa. Esta implica, por un lado, el proceso de escritura con una aproximación que podría considerarse lúdica y que, por tanto, fomentaría el disfrute del alumnado hacia las actividades que impliquen escribir, y, por otro lado, el desarrollo de la imaginación y la creatividad. Así pues, en este trabajo se presentan tres posibles actividades de escritura creativa, que prestan especial atención al contenido de las producciones de los alumnos, con la intención de que vean que sus creaciones escritas son valoradas por los demás, y que aquello que expresen es importante, para que así desarrollen el gusto por los ejercicios de este tipo. Las actividades propuestas pueden ser implementadas en las aulas. Una de ellas se puso en práctica para analizarla, y en este trabajo se exponen los resultados obtenidos y las observaciones sobre su desarrollo, para probar la efectividad que la escritura creativa pueda tener a la hora de animar al alumnado a escribir y generar nuevas ideas creativas. Finalmente, se plantean algunas propuestas de investigación, inspiradas por las conclusiones tras la puesta en práctica de la actividad de escritura creativa, y que podrían ser beneficiosas para el campo de la educación.

The act of writing is a complex process that involves a considerable number of areas in the brain, which makes it a very valuable asset in the academic field. Nevertheless, the way it is been used in classrooms has turned writing into something purely mechanic, with little sense, by limiting the act to the copy of repeated ideas that are usually not produced by the student, and where most of the attention is focused on the form, instead of on the content. This has caused students to grow unmotivated, or even abhor writing activities. On top of that, creative and imaginative skills, which are of the outmost importance for human beings and the development of their full potential as active and dynamic people, capable of facing life and solve any problems they might encounter, are left in the background in most classrooms, if not completely forgotten. Something that might alleviate these problems is creative writing. This implies, on one hand, the writing process with a more recreational approach, which could nurture students’ enjoyment of writing activities, as well as their imagination and creativity. Therefore, this document proposes three possible creative writing activities, which pay special attention to the content of the students’ creations, with the intention that they realize that their productions are valued by others, and that the ideas they express are important, so they might get encouraged to take part in other activities similar to these. The activities proposed can be implemented in the classrooms. One of them was put into practice to be analyzed, and the results can be found at the end of this document, together with the observations of its development. The intention is to prove the effectiveness of creative writing to encourage students to write and explore their creativity. Finally, this document considers a series of possible future lines of investigation, inspired by the conclusions reached after the implementation of the writing activity, which could be beneficial to the field of education.
