Las TIC como recurso para enseñar el inglés como L2 en la etapa de educación infantil

Abstract

La educación infantil es la etapa donde se producen los primeros aprendizajes, los más significativos, por esta razón se recomienda iniciar la enseñanza del inglés como L2 en esta etapa. Además, numerosos estudios hacen referencia a la importancia de la edad de exposición al inglés, obteniéndose mejores resultados en la adquisición del idioma cuando la edad de exposición del aprendiz es menor. Para introducir el inglés en Educación Infantil tenemos que tener en cuenta que en esta etapa los niños aprenden mediante rutinas y repeticiones. Por otro lado, las TIC están cada vez más presentes en nuestra vida y un buen uso de las mismas tiene grandes beneficios. Por esta razón la idea del presente trabajo es crear recursos digitales para la enseñanza del inglés como L2 en las aulas de Educación Infantil. Dichos recursos se van a centrar en tres aspectos básicos: la asamblea, el vocabulario básico y la metodología “Total Physical Response”. El primer recurso será una asamblea digital. La asamblea en esta etapa es fundamental, ya que los niños se expresan libremente. A través de la asamblea digital introduciremos expresiones básicas en inglés, así como el vocabulario de los días de la semana, los meses, los números o las estaciones entre otros. Además, utilizaremos canciones para profundizar el vocabulario. En segundo lugar, profundizaremos el vocabulario mediante quiz digitales básicos. El alumno deberá elegir la imagen que se corresponde a la palabra expuesta. Por último, trabajaremos la metodología “TPR”, ya que dicha metodología obtiene buenos resultados en etapas iniciales.

Early childhood education is the stage where the first learning takes place, the most significant, for this reason it is recommended to start teaching English as L2 at this stage. In addition, numerous studies refer to the importance of the age of exposure to English, obtaining better results in the acquisition of the language when the age of exposure of the learner is lower. To introduce English in Early Childhood Education we have to take into account that at this stage children learn through routines and repetitions. On the other hand, ICTs are increasingly present in our lives and a good use of them has great benefits. For this reason, the idea of this work is to create digital resources for teaching English as L2 in Early Childhood Education classrooms. These resources will focus on three basic aspects: the assembly, the basic vocabulary and the "total physical response" methodology. The first resource will be a digital assembly. The assembly at this stage is essential, since children express themselves freely. Through the digital assembly we will introduce basic expressions in English, as well as the vocabulary of the days of the week, the months, the numbers or the seasons, among others. In addition, we will use songs to deepen the vocabulary. Secondly, we will deepen the vocabulary through basic digital quizzes. The student must choose the image that corresponds to the exposed word. Finally, we will work on the "TPR" methodology, since this methodology obtains good results in the initial stages.
