Emprendimiento rural en España: análisis comparativo con datos GEM 2019-2021

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la situación actual del emprendimiento rural en España. Además, conocer las principales diferencias que se presentan respecto al emprendimiento urbano. El trabajo se divide en dos partes principales: La primera parte se asocia a aspectos teóricos, con los que se trataran de entender el concepto de emprendimiento rural, las actividades principales que se desarrollan, o las consecuencias de la despoblación rural en España y su impacto sobre el emprendimiento. Las numerosas ayudas que los emprendedores tienen la posibilidad de recibir y la importancia que tienen para el fortalecimiento y crecimiento de sus empresas, es una de las principales facetas de esta parte. Finalmente, se valorará el impacto de la pandemia COVID-19 sobre el medio rural. En la segunda parte del trabajo se realizará un análisis comparativo entre emprendimiento urbano y rural a través de datos del GEM (2019-2021), generando una lista de gráficas que analicen diferentes variables, que nos ayuden a entender la situación actual de ambos tipos de emprendimiento. Los resultados obtenidos revelan que el emprendimiento urbano tiene mejores resultados en la mayoría de variables analizadas. Adicionalmente, las percepciones de los diferentes tipos de emprendedores no son buenas, ya que ambos manifiestan un miedo generalizado a iniciar un proceso emprendedor, o no ven un futuro próximo con muchas oportunidades. Son datos que son alarmantes para la situación emprendedora en España. En resumen, el trabajo ofrece una visión integral de las diferentes variables que afectan al emprendimiento rural. Además, los resultados que proporcionan los datos del GEM, ayudan a comprender la situación que atraviesa el emprendimiento en España, lo que puede promover que se busquen medidas para intentar revertir la situación

This work aims to analyze the current situation of rural entrepreneurship in Spain and to understand the main differences compared to urban entrepreneurship. The work is divided into two main parts: The first part focuses on theoretical aspects, aiming to understand the concept of rural entrepreneurship, the main activities involved, and the consequences of rural depopulation in Spain and its impact on entrepreneurship. One of the key aspects of this part is the numerous grants and support that entrepreneurs have the possibility of receiving, which are crucial for the strengthening and growth of their businesses. Lastly, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the rural environment will be evaluated. The second part of the work involves a comparative analysis between urban and rural entrepreneurship using data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) (2019-2021). This analysis will generatea series of graphs examining different variables to help us understand the current situation of both types of entrepreneurships. The results reveal that urban entrepreneurship shows better outcomes in most of the analyzed variables. Additionally, the perceptions of different types of entrepreneurs are not positive, as both express a widespread fear of initiating an entrepreneurial process and a lack of immediate opportunities. These findings are alarming for the entrepreneurial situation in Spain. In summary, this work provides a comprehensive overview of the different variables affecting rural entrepreneurship. The results from the GEM data help to understand the current state of entrepreneurship in Spain, which may prompt the search for measures to reverse the situation
