Abstract

El estudio del sistema judicial en la Monarquía Hispánica ha sido tratado ampliamente por los autores de las últimas décadas, tanto desde la perspectiva documental como bibliográfica, con corrientes en debate sobre el carácter del sistema. Enmarcado en este contexto, se encuentra la causa contra Juan Guerrero, situado en la coyuntura del final del Antiguo Régimen, se presenta como un ejemplo indudable del desarrollo de este sistema en los años postrimeros del siglo XVIII.

The study of the judicial system in the Spanish Empire has been extensively treated by authors from the last few decades, both from documentary and bibliographical perspectives, with disputing approaches about the character of the system. Framed in this context, is the case against Juan Guerrero, located at the conjuncture of the end of the Old Regime, it is presented as an unquestionable example of the development of this system in the last years of the eighteenth century.
