Evaluación comparativa de los resultados obtenidos tras cirugía de uretroplastia según las diferentes definiciones de éxito tras el procedimiento

Abstract

Introducción: La estenosis de uretra presenta diferentes opciones de tratamiento. Desde conservador hasta quirúrgico, siendo la uretroplastia el tratamiento gold standard. El seguimiento posturetroplastia es fundamental para determinar el éxito de la intervención y la posibilidad de recidiva. Objetivos: Realizar una evaluación comparativa de los resultados obtenidos tras la cirugía de uretroplastia según las diferentes definiciones de éxito tras la intervención. Material y métodos: Se ha llevado a cabo un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo en pacientes intervenidos de uretroplastia. Se han recogido los datos de al menos 1 año de seguimiento postquirúrgico. Resultados: La etiología más frecuente de estenosis observada en nuestra serie ha sido idiopática coincidiendo con lo descrito en la literatura actual, y la localización más frecuente de la estenosis la uretra bulbar. El 91,8% de nuestros paciente no preciso reingreso posterior a la intervención. Conclusión: La uretroplastia es el tratamiento que mayor éxito asocia en la estenosis uretral. En nuestra serie de paciente el éxito obtenido es similar al reportado en la literatura. El seguimiento se debe realizar teniendo en cuenta tanto criterios objetivos como subjetivos de estenosis.

Introduction: The urethral stricture presents different treatment options. From conservative to surgical, urethroplasty is the gold standard treatment. Posturetroplasty follow-up is essential to determine the success of the intervention and the possibility of recurrence. Objetives: To carry out a comparative evaluation of the results obtained after urethroplasty surgery according to the different definitions of success after the intervention. Material and methods: It has been done a retrospective descriptive study in patients undergoing urethroplasty. Data from at least 1 year of post-surgical follow-up has been collected. Results: The most frequent etiology of stricture observed in our series was idiopathic, agreeing with what is described in the current literature, and the most frequent location of the stricture was the bulbar urethra. 91.8% of our patients did not require readmission after the intervention. Conclusion: Urethroplasty is the most successful treatment in urethral stricture. In our series of patients, the success obtained is similar to that reported in the literature. Follow-up must be carried out taking into account both objective and subjective criteria of stenosis.
