La abogacía y sus principios deontológicos

Abstract

Desde el comienzo de las civilizaciones humanas, la idea de justicia y su aplicación han sido una necesidad para el hombre. En esa búsqueda de justicia, el papel del abogado ha sido fundamental, como defensor de las pretensiones legítimas de sus clientes, al contar con conocimientos jurídicos. Pero el ejercicio de la abogacía no consiste únicamente en conocer las leyes de aplicación, sino que es una profesión en la que se deben respetar y guardar ciertos principios y reglas de actuación, a fin de que tanto la labor letrada como el trabajo de la administración de la justicia se practiquen de la mejor manera posible. En este trabajo veremos tanto el desarrollo y evolución de la abogacía y sus objetivos, como los principios que rigen a la profesión para lograr ese objetivo fundamental de las sociedades: impartir justicia.

Since the beginning of human civilizations, the idea of justice and its application have been a necessity for man. In this search for justice, the role of the lawyer has been fundamental, as defender of the legitimate claims of his clients, by having legal knowledge. But the practice of the legal profession does not only consist of knowing the applicable laws, but it is a profession in which certain principles and rules of action must be respected and kept, so that both the legal work and the work of the administration of justice are practiced in the most optimal way. In this work we will see both the development and evolution of the legal profession and its objectives, as well as the principles that govern the profession to achieve that fundamental objective of societies: to impart justice.
